About Me:
Edgar K. Tham Registered Psychologist (Singapore), Certified Sports Counsellor (USA)
Edgar Tham is passionate about helping people break personal barriers and achieve performance success in sports and other performance domains. As Singapore's pioneer Sport Psychologist, Edgar has worked with more than 30 different sports from the schools to world championship levels since 1993.
Edgar was the team consultant and travelling psychologist to numerous national teams preparing for the SEA Games, Asian Games, Commonwealth Games, Olympic Games, Paralympic Games and World Championships since 1993. He was the Consultant Psychologist to the Singapore Team that competed in the 2005 World Skills Competition in Finland, Helsinki, and to several national athletes in preparation for the Southeast Asian (SEA) Games in November 2005 and the Commonwealth Games in March 2006.
As a Registered Psychologist, Edgar is listed in the International Who's Who of Professionals (2000) for his specialised work in peak performance psychology. He is the author of "In The Zone: The Mindset for Peak Performance in Sports," "Psychological Rehabilitation" and co-author of "The Ideal Performance State."
He is currently a lecturer for the SSC National Coaching Accreditation Programme in Mental Skills Training, and a part-time faculty member of several overseas undergraduate psychology degree courses offered in Singapore. Edgar holds black belts in Aikido and Taekwondo, and has been awarded Colours Awards for his leadership and achievements in canoeing and dragon boat racing.
